Coming of Gender
W224-225
In-Person Friday 09/10/2021 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM   Add to calendar
Competencies: Interpersonal (Behavioral), Workplace (Technical)
Workplace Application:
Attendees will learn how HR can help build a culture that is inclusive of nonbinary employees.

Remember when race or ethnicity was classified with broad identifiers? Look how far we have come with the adoption of more-accurate descriptive words since then. How about gender? Are we moving forward here? Our speaker will focus on individuals who do not identify as male or female. How does the nonbinary employee impact your workplace and all of the people in it? How can HR disseminate information to build trust, while successfully showing no bias in the workplace? Hear how your support can help transgender individuals to be successful in your workplace. Learn how being uncomfortable can push you to make choices that prove HR is still about the humans involved.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the term “nonbinary.”
  • Understand how gender expression is not a threat to traditional roles or your personal standing.
  • Hear how HR can impact the success of the nonbinary employee.
  • Hear how your being uncomfortable for a moment will result in all being comfortable at your workplace.
