Review research supporting the existence of bias towards the unemployed candidate, and particularly among HR professionals, regardless of the reason for unemployment. The disproportionately large number of minority unemployed candidates impacts organizational diversity, selection methods/models, and staffing plans as well as organizational capacity, training and development. Hear recommendations to reduce risk of adverse impact and bias to encourage diversity.
