Barbara J. Miller is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Ms. Miller focuses her practice on employment litigation. Ms. Miller has experience representing employers in a broad range of employment matters including race, sex, and disability discrimination; harassment; wage and hour; wrongful discharge; and employment-related class actions. Ms. Miller has also counseled and trained employers on California's unique employment laws and has significant experience with wage-and-hour audits and class actions. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Miller worked at another large international law firm in Orange County, where she focused on representing private employers in employment law. Ms. Miller received her J.D., with high distinction, from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1992 and her B.S. in industrial engineering from Stanford University in 1989. Ms. Miller is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Lorin Mueller, PhD, SPHR, is a nationally recognized expert on occupational and employment testing. He is currently as the managing director of assessment at the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, a not-for-profit that develops the national licensure examination for physical therapy professionals. Prior to taking that position, Dr. Mueller was a Principal Research Scientist at the American Institutes for Research where he led the development of SHRM’s Assurance of Learning assessment for recent HR graduates. Dr. Mueller has worked on occupational assessments for such diverse occupations as air-traffic controllers, advanced mathematicians, medical school students, and teachers.

Nancy Woolever, SHRM-SCP, joined SHRM in 1997 to plan SHRM’s conference, seminar, e-learning and executive education programs. In 2006, she began leading SHRM’s academic initiative to raise HR educational standards and led the test development and administration of SHRM’s student capstone exam before joining the certification team as director of exam development in 2017. In 2019, Ms. Woolever became the vice president of certification operations as overall product and project owner with responsibility for exam development, certificant care and testing administration. Before joining SHRM, Ms. Woolever held various management positions in industry and academia. Her specialty areas are test development, training and development.  Ms. Woolever holds a bachelor’s in business administration and a master’s in HR both from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
