SHRM 2012 Talent Management Conference
PowerPoints/Handouts Available

Workplace Application: Attend this session and learn how you can improve your organization’s social media strategy and how to use it as part of your talent management strategy.

Social media has led to new paradigms in talent management, impacting recruitment, screening and selection.  Although this has tremendous benefits, it has also resulted in a number of challenges. Social media has many positive qualities that can be strategically exploited by organizations, but, as with most good things, moderation is still key, and a clear strategic plan is essential. When organizations establish a social media strategy as part of their overall organizational strategy, they can avoid legal challenges and staffing mistakes related to the use of this new technology. The goal of this presentation is to highlight current practice in the use of social media in organizations with a focus on how social media is being used in the talent management field.
