This session will show you how to obtain competitive compensation market data, how to interpret and analyze it, and finally how to use and report it.

The session focuses on identifying compensation survey sources, assessing the reliability and validity of the data, adjusting and aging the data, and how to use the data to assess the competitiveness of compensation programs.  Participants will leave the session with an understanding of salary survey data types, market analysis as a business process, and tools and techniques for evaluating data and developing recommendations.

Robert J Fulton, Jr., SPHR, CEBS is the Managing Director of The Pathfinder’s Group, Inc. Fulton has specialized in compensation and benefits for over 25 years, and he provides value for clients in the areas of innovative compensation & benefit strategies for organizations, design of cash compensation, reward, and benefit programs, and analysis of human resources work processes. His accomplishments include the design and restructuring of benefit programs, and the development of both broad-based and narrowly focused compensation plans at all organizational levels.

Bob has presented a wide variety of human resources workshops for professional organizations throughout the Chicago area, including the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC), numerous SHRM chapters, and the Human Resources Institute at Aurora University.  He also has served as a compensation certification course instructor for WorldatWork as well as for ISCEBS through Northwestern University.  His classroom teaching experience includes compensation and benefits courses for De Paul University in Chicago.
