Fast-forward to 2016, and employers still struggle to stay compliant with confusing Form I-9 and E-Verify rules and new immigration laws at the state and local level. This interactive session will cover the latest Form I-9 guidance from various government agencies and will reveal upcoming changes to the E-Verify program. After this session, you will be able to:
- Understand the latest developments in I-9 and E-Verify guidance, including legislative changes, new regulations and policy memos. Using this information, you can begin to evaluate your own processes and procedures 30 days post-session.
- Formulate a plan to remediate past compliance mistakes in a uniform and nondiscriminatory manner. You will be able to put this plan into place 60 days post-session.
- Develop standard I-9 and E-Verify policies and procedures, including the use of smart automation technology. You will be able to draft your own standard policies (using a template provided by the presenter) within 90 days post-session.
