2016 Leadership Development Forum
You will learn a seven-step process to effectively utilize a coaching leadership style.
PowerPoints/Handouts Available

Repeated from Tuesday at 10:15 a.m.

Harvard Business Review reported that more and more companies are requiring managers to coach their subordinates. But the term “coaching” has been widely misused, causing confusion about this leadership style. Your mastery of this skill can make a world of difference in your organization. This session will show you how to:

  • Distinguish the difference between managing and coaching and when to use each.
  • “Be” the coach—adopt certain beliefs and behaviors that will allow you to be recognized as a coaching leader.
  • Use a simple process to identify your audience and communicate with a higher level of influence.
  • Develop the skill of helping people discover solutions vs. giving advice.
  • Hone your skills on being present, active listening, powerful inquiry and much more.
