This session is designed to provide information regarding the changing nature of the HR profession and how SHRM certifications evolve with it.  Dr. Alexander Alonso, SHRM’s SVP for Knowledge Development, will provide insights into key shifts affecting the HR profession.  Key trends such as the changing nature of the workplace, the influx of new technologies, and shifts in generational participation in the workforce are discussed with the aim of highlighting the impact on HR management practices.  Most importantly, Dr. Alonso will describe how these key trends play a role in the evolving SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge (SHRM BoCK).  Attendees will gain insights into the evolution of SHRM certifications and be able to describe how that evolution plays a role in keeping the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP relevant.
