Home > Beyond Tolerance: Engaging Diverse Worldviews in Your Organization

2017 Diversity & Inclusion Conference & Exposition
Learn how to avoid the pitfalls that arise when working to create more-diverse organizations and how to leverage organizational mission to effect change.
PowerPoints/Handouts Available

Tolerance is not enough. Organizations need an organic philosophy on how to move from basic accommodations of diversity to true pluralism, where diversity of worldviews is valued and pursued. Having concrete strategies in place to help constituents work across differences ensures that diversity is not just a buzz-creating phrase or something aspirational. This session will empower you to turn diversity of perspectives into a catalyst for innovation and collaboration. In this session, you will:

  • Reframe diversity in terms of your organization’s capacity for creativity.
  • Be equipped with a working definition of “worldview” that encourages a more pluralistic workplace.
  • Articulate ways in which worldview diversity has challenged your organization and learn strategies to overcome those challenges.
