Presenter Hanadi Chehabeddine will share her inspirational personal and professional experiences, first addressing the main misconceptions about Islam and then moving on to what you, as an HR professional, can do to educate your employees and create a thriving culture of acceptance. You will learn what it means to be Muslim and tackle widely held misconceptions that people have: Why don’t Muslims denounce terrorism? Are women oppressed in Islam? What is Sharia Law? What is Islamophobia really about? This session will help you to distinguish facts from fiction and bring critical thinking into your acquired perception of the second-largest world religion. Named “World Class peacekeeper” by the Star Tribune, Hanadi Chehabeddine is a TEDx and U.S. State Department International speaker, diversity trainer and communication consultant. Originally from Lebanon, Hanadi is an award-winning creative who has been featured in publications such as: The Guthrie Theater, Huffington Post, MinnPost, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and most recently, Cosmopolitan magazine and Pantsuit Nation book.
Hanadi is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Leadership at St. Thomas University and is a Human Rights Award Recipient from the city of Eden Prairie for her efforts in dismantling misconceptions about Islam and building bridges of unity.
