This session is most relevant for HR practitioners based in North America or Europe as well as those who work closely with HR colleagues based in South-East Asia. This session will highlighted the ongoing HR challenges in this very diverse region.  You will learn why certain HR practices, while common and effective in your region, would need to be tweaked, or totally changed in this region, and could even differ between countries in the region.  You will also hear about the survey results from HR practitioners about what they enjoy as well as what they find challenging when working with counterparts in your regions. This session will help you:

  • Understand and appreciate the diversity of the South-East Asia region.
  • Identify the key differences in the HR maturity level in each of the country in this region.
  • Appreciate the challenges that HR faces in this region.
  • Apply the learning gained in this session to increase the effectiveness of working with HR colleagues in this region.

CP is a current practising Senior HR Business Partner based in Singapore with almost 10 years of HR specialist and generalist experience in various industries such as Government, Banking & Finance, e-Commerce, Logistics and IT.  Accredited as a HR practitioner in Singapore US, UK, Australia and Canada, CP has consulted with numerous clients from MNCs to SMEs in various HR areas and has designed and conducted training workshops in HR, business and leadership skills, as well as facilitated management meetings and strategic planning workshop.  He has also been invited to speak at many HR conference in Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar.   He is currently providing HR advisory services to local companies under the Singapore Government programs for SMEs and serves as a volunteer board and committee member in two local non-profit organisations.

Mr. Henri Tan is an experienced HR Consultant and training facilitator. He has 18 years of experience in HR primarily from the infrastructure/engineering industries.

Besides sharing his HR expertise through the delivery of HR workshops, Henri Tan provides HR solutions to Singapore’s SMEs (Small-and-Medium Enterprises) with projects ranging from employment compliance, recruitment and selection, performance management, employee engagement and leadership development.

Henri Tan holds a Master of Arts from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), a post Graduate Diploma in Human Capital Management from Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI) and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from National University of Singapore (NUS).

Martin Lee is the Human Resources Manager (Singapore & The Philippines) at Baker Hughes, a GE Company, a global industry leader in the delivery of oilfield products and solutions.

Martin has over 14 years of experience delivering Human Resources solutions in Singapore as well as the Asia Pacific Region. His experience includes talent management, talent acquisition, employee development, and industrial relations.

Martin earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the National University of Singapore and an MBA from Lancaster University (UK). He holds graduate diplomas in Human Resources Management as well as Career Coaching.
