William Mitchell started with American Airlines in 1995. Currently serving as Managing Director of Leadership Planning and Performance, he is responsible for leading the team that oversees leadership and talent management at American. Specifically, he oversees college recruiting, organizational development, talent management, leadership development, performance management, and succession planning. He began at American in 1995. William received his bachelors degree in business administration from Abilene Christian University and masters degree in public administration/political science from Texas A&M University. He is married to Karen Mitchell, Esq. and has four children. He is a community action team leader for his church, homeowners’ association board member, school volunteer, and Habitat for Humanity volunteer.
