Home > Communication as a Strategy for Recruiting Professionals

SHRM 2015 Talent Management Conference & Exposition
Workplace Application: This session will challenge you to change your perception about the importance of interpersonal communication.
PowerPoints/Handouts Available

Good communication and interpersonal skills are foundational for all areas of life from relationship building to leading others to negotiation. Chism challenges the notion that communication is simply a soft-skill and instead urges you to view communication as a strategy that promotes your brand, builds morale, and assists you in aligning teamwork with the mission and values of your organization. This session will help you:

  • Shift your language to a positive framework resulting in learning how to gain collaboration.
  • Learn a three part process for staying focused and re-directing the communication to build trust and morale and to stay aligned with your organization’s mission.
  • Utilize a visual model illustrating the four quadrants of leadership change and how potential drama can become the stepping stone on the bridge to enlightenment which will help you to assess your challenges and opportunities during times of rapid change.
  • Identify and discard dysfunctional communication habits which will help build trust, increase morale and promote teamwork.
