The Center for Creative Leadership’s (CCL ) own extensive research makes clear that strategic leadership happens as a social process involving individuals and groups who think, act and influence in ways that produce sustainable competitive advantage for an organization. For HR professionals living and leading in today’s volatile, uncertain, chaotic and ambiguous world, developing their own and fostering others’ strategic leadership is more important than ever.
Leading Strategically for HR professionals is designed by CCL to provide HR professionals with knowledge, tools and practices they can use to:
- Define Strategic Leadership as different from other frames for leadership and identify opportunities to lead strategically in their own organization.
- Identify opportunities and practices s to navigate across boundaries. The strategic HR professional must understand and synthesize information from sources and levels beyond their own function, company and even their own industry.
- Identify and understand their own and others’ approach to change, and implications for leading change more effectively and successfully.
- Explore how to work with dilemmas that constrain organizational effectiveness yet cannot be solved with conventional problem-solving approaches.
- Consider the impact of organizational culture on the execution of strategy and delivery of results, and assess how their current organizational culture supports or constrains execution of their own key strategies.
