This session will help you develop an action plan to demonstrate compliance with the EEOC guidance on the use of criminal records in background checks and hiring.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued a new guidance on the use of criminal records in hiring decisions that has the impact to totally change how your organization approaches hiring. This session will explore what you should do now to ensure compliance while performing criminal background checks. You will leave with an understanding on the basis of court cases against employers alleging discrimination in how background checks are conducted. Learn how to deal with issues such as, ban the box, relevancy matrixes,targeted screens, and individualized assessments as well as what steps you can take immediately to comply with the EEOC Guidance and minimize your legal risks yet still ensuring a safe workplace.
