Sessions
All too often, our diversity councils or BRGs spin their wheels, unable to see progress. Without momentum, they lose motivation and become frustrated. Often this is because the organization hasn't built the necessary capacity to set them up for success. The work of D&I is a practice fueled by research and decades of learning. Yet, many times the groups we form don't fully understand the complexities of D&I. Organizations are realizing that for these groups to be effective, they need to first build their capacity. You will discover an action learning process used by a number of successful organizations that will guide you to create a D&I strategy and build your capacity to lead it. You will gain knowledge of the 13 areas of D&I programming, advance your own cultural competence, and learn and examine your relevant organizational data, all to create your own strategy. In this session, you will:
- Explore the action learning process used by a number of successful organizations to build capacity of internal D&I groups.
- Learn from real-world case studies of tangible development and specific examples of how organizational D&I work evolved because of the process.
- Be given strategies and tips for creating an action learning process.
