Workplace Application:
Gain a better understanding of the invisible nature of illness and pain and its impact on the lives of people living and working with it daily, as well as on caregivers.
What is an invisible disability? You will discover why many people have difficulty understanding chronic illness and pain. You will learn how invisible symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, cognitive impairments, brain fog and the like can be limiting to those in your workplace, although the person experiencing them may not look sick or in pain. Be introduced to the language of invisible disabilities: What to say, what not to say and finally, how to help those impacted in your organization become Invisible No More®. In this session, you will:
- Learn the meaning of invisible disability.
- Find out what discourages a person who is living with an invisible disability.
- Discover what encourages a person who is living with an invisible disability.
