Workplace Application:
You will learn how to identify and appropriately address harassment in the workplace in order to reduce liability for your organization. 

Harassment and disrespect can have a detrimental effect on the workplace. Understanding the difference between insensitive behavior and harassment and learning how to respond can decrease liability for your organization. This session will review the legal aspects of harassment as well as how unaddressed behaviors, attitudes or actions can escalate into potential workplace violence. You will learn what constitutes harassment, why employees have a difficult time reporting it, and how to avoid frequent mistakes when addressing issues of harassment and discrimination. Following this session, you will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between harassment and insensitive behavior among your employees.
  • Increase employee awareness of reporting procedures for harassment.
  • Prepare a response plan to appropriately address incidents of both disrespect and harassment.
  • Engage employees in discussion and training around insensitive behavior and harassment to mitigate potential issues.
