Nellie joined Accenture in 1986. She created the first role for Diversity efforts and is embraced as a beloved and deeply committed advocate for change, for women, for minorities, for people. As Accenture's Global Inclusion & Diversity Managing Director, Nellie holds a crucial leadership role and is a driving force behind the company's diversity initiatives. The program's mission is to optimize Accenture's ability to fulfill its vision and core values by creating an environment rich in diversity. Under Nellie's leadership, most recent innovations are creation of a development program for high performing women globally, design of career progression initiatives for women throughout APAC, EMEA and the Americas; global positioning of the LGBT and Persons with Disability agenda; as well as the design and execution of ethnic diversity programs.

Few people are better poised to speak about diversity. Nellie has shared her perspectives and beliefs in publications such as Forbes, Management Consulting Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Diversity Inc., Diversity Careers in IT & Engineering, Black Enterprise and Hispanic Engineering, as well as having been a featured guest on National Public Radio, NPR. Nellie is a sought after speaker for her inspirational impact. Passionately, she brings her wisdom of experience and awareness on topics including best practices in diversity initiatives, development and advancement of women globally, ethnic minorities in the U.S., U.K. and South Africa. Recently, Nellie spoke at the Colloquium on Global Diversity and The Global Summit of Women in New York.

Nellie serves as a model in a personal adversity and advocacy role for women and minorities globally. She has received numerous awards, among them: 2012 LatinaStyle Top 5 Executive Women; 2012 Marcus Buckingham Leaders Leading Leaders Award; 2012 Hispanic Business Influentials; 2008 Stevie Women in Business Awards: 'Best Latin American Executive'; 2000 National Society of Hispanic MBA's Individual Corporate Executive Award; 1999 National Management Consulting Diversity Achievement Award; 1999 ASPIRA Circle of Achievers Award. Nellie has served as the Chairperson for the ASPIRA Mentoring Program.

Nellie has served as an Advisory Board Member of VisionSpring, a social enterprise nonprofit organization whose global focus includes providing people in underdeveloped countries opportunity to have access to eye care and wear through financially empowering women to successfully begin and sustain their own business, and provide needed service to their communities. She is a current Member of the LaGuardia Community College Foundation Board, which provides financial aid, scholarships, and funding for state-of-the-art facilities within the college to prepare LaGuardia students, the future leaders of tomorrow. She has served as a Member of the Board of Aspira of New York, whose purpose is to foster social advancement of the Latino community by supporting its youth in the pursuit of educational excellence through leadership development programs that emphasize commitment to the community and the Latino cultural heritage.

Nellie earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree after attending New York University and Lehman College. Her degree is in Management, specializing in Human Resources. Nellie quickly became an advocate, personally and professionally, championing women and minorities in the workplace, in the world.

Nellie is married and has a daughter and son. She enjoys her family life, reading, playing tennis and purposefully giving to the world.

Shilpa Pherwani is an organizational psychologist by training and the Principal and CEO of IBIS Consulting Group, Inc. She has expertise in the areas of cultural competency, diversity and inclusion, organizational development and e-­learning.  As a consultant and trainer, Shilpa provides guidance to organizations to develop and achieve their D&I business goals.  She provides subject matter expertise in change management, organizational development and diversity to help organizations align D&I with business strategy. Shilpa heads the design and development team at IBIS for diversity e-­learning tools. She has led the team for several highly effective programs for clients such as Aetna, Boeing, Campbell Soup, Grainger, ESPN, Nestle, Microsoft, Sun Life Financial, and Xerox. Shilpa’s work with global organizations has included conducting diversity assessments, diversity and cross-­cultural training, leadership development, and implementation of diversity strategic plans. Shilpa received her Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Springfield College with a focus on Organizational Development.

Sheree Galpert, Learning and Creativity Director for IBIS, is an organization development consultant and trainer, as well as a professional actor and educator.  She is head writer, director, and facilitator for IBIS's Interactive Theater programs, whose audiences have ranged from 15 to 1500.  Sheree also oversees the development of IBIS's e-Learning programs, working with the creative team to determine the concept, style, and approach for each project.  She particularly enjoys finding the tone and "feel" that are just right for the client - funny? heartfelt? thought-provoking? Josh Davis is the Director of Research and Lead Professor for the NeuroLeadership Institute.  He guides the Institute’s work in translating basic science research for business and leadership use, and drives strategy for new research content.  He lectures frequently both for the NeuroLeadership Institute classes, and at conferences and organizational events worldwide.  He received his bachelor’s from Brown University, and his Ph.D. from Columbia University. His career began in engineering, from which he transitioned to academic teaching and research about the mind and brain. He has received funding from the National Science Foundation, and has taught at New York University, Columbia University, and Barnard College. His written work on management and productivity has appeared in Harvard Business Review, People & Strategy, strategy + business, Training + Development, the NeuroLeadership Journal – which he co-edits – and Psychology Today.  He is the author of the books Two Awesome Hours: Science-based Strategies to Harness Your Best Time and Get Your Most Important Work Done

Meredith develops and executes a comprehensive strategy to educate and inform volunteer leaders on membership programs, services and resources and to support them in their Volunteer Leader role. Meredith was previously the director of member advocacy at SHRM, overseeing the Advocacy Team (A-Team) network of volunteer advocates, where she facilitated relationships between SHRM members and lawmakers to strengthen the Society's advocacy objectives in legislative districts nationwide. In addition, Meredith provided training and guidance to HR advocates on how to effectively communicate with lawmakers regarding workplace policies.

With over 30 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors, Bob began his career in government affairs as a personal staff member to U.S. Senator Sam Nunn

(D-GA).  After leaving Capitol Hill, he worked for a national law firm representing clients before Congress and the Executive Branch.

Before joining the Society for Human Resource Management back in 2006, Bob managed the government relations and member advocacy programs of two business trade associations representing the automotive aftermarket and the steel service center industries, as well as worked in an Alexandria-based public affairs firm providing government relations assistance in Washington. 

As SHRM’s Senior State Affairs Advisor, Bob’s responsibilities include monitoring legislative activity impacting HR at the state level, and assists with SHRM’s member advocacy activities.  He is a graduate of the University of Rochester in Upstate New York with an American History degree.

Tracy Raben is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at OCC. OCC is the world's largest equity derivatives clearing organization and the foundation for secure markets.
