Virtual strategic thinking/planning is possible and essential now more than ever. This highly interactive strategic thinking process with a strengths-based mindset is grounded with practical doctoral research from c-level association management executives. This fast-paced session will model how a chapter can self-facilitate this process as well as exploring an outside peer or facilitator to guide the dialog. In this session, chapter representatives will:
Explore the Train Whistles/Change Catalysts concept which identifies positive and challenging issues facing the chapter.
Engage the SOAR Framework which is similar to a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities; threats) analysis but takes an Appreciative Inquiry approach to identifying the “bright spots” of the organization and how these bright spots might be replicated in other areas. SOAR stands for: strengths; opportunities; aspirations; results (measurements/benchmarks).
Identify techniques to identify strategy key issues that are high level areas for goals/objectives to be framed. Sample words that are more goal/objective focused will be provided and shared.
Learn how to use tactics/actions that support the goals/objectives in developing a strengths-based strategic thinking process. Sample words that are more goal/objective focused will be provided and shared.
