In today’s turbulent economic times, many HR professionals find themselves facing budget reductions requiring reorganization or other organizational transitions including a reduction in work force. These decisions cannot be made lightly and will have an impact on the entire organization and even broader implications for the community. Because of the sensitive nature of a reduction in work force, it is important to handle the process of separating staff with dignity and respect. This session will focus on a practitioners experience of downsizing at several corporations including Staples and Hickory Farms.
