Workplace Application:
Understand why Diversity and Inclusion work must, and will, evolve as the workforce demographic changes.
We live in a society where stereotypes based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, and a host of other identities are pervasive. However, depending on what era an individual was raised in, s/he will not only harbor biases about different generational cohorts, but will see a myriad of other identity groups in different ways as well. Explore how stereotypes are absorbed, and how different cultural experiences have shaped vastly different ways of seeing the world around us. As Millennials gain a foothold in management positions, and a fifth generation is poised to join the workforce, this information is crucial if diversity and inclusion work is to remain relevant and effective.
