Steve joined Workhuman in December of 2017 as chief human resources officer (CHRO) and works with HR leaders and senior management executives worldwide to help build workplaces where every employee feels recognized, respected, and appreciated for who they are and what they do. He champions and promotes our Workhuman movement to inspire HR leaders to embrace more humanity and foster a sense of purpose in the workplace. Steve is focused on building upon Workhuman’s award-winning culture, which has set a new industry standard through its own power usage of recognition and positivity. Before joining Workhuman, Steve served in senior HR executive roles for Walgreens Boots Alliance and Monster.com. A frequent presenter on Capitol Hill, in 2015, he was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Competitive Integrated Employment of People with Disabilities.

Best known in media circles for her exper tise as a crisis management advisor, Smith has served as a consultant for a host of high profile, celebrit y and entertainment. She has
assisted companies such as BellSouth, Union Pacific, Nextel, United Healthcare, Americhoice, Wal-Mart, and Waste Management Corporation on a range of corporate, investor,
and public relations matters. Smith has provided counsel to several heads of state. Her wide ranging and ground breaking career inspired a television drama about the world of crisis management. The series entitled, Scandal, revolves around the life and work of a professional fixer. Smith is the author of the book, Good Self, Bad Self.

Jean C. Setzfand is the Senior Vice President of AARP Programs that produces interactive educational programming designed to address Health, Wealth and Personal Enrichment concerns for consumers 50 and over.  Additionally, Programs drives towns, counties and cities to be more livable for all ages through educational programming aimed at local leaders, policy makers, planners and citizen activists. 

In addition to her work at AARP, Ms. Setzfand serves on the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Investor Advisory Committee and the Advisory Committee on Seniors for the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA). 

Ms. Setzfand has been with AARP since 2002.  Prior to joining AARP, she worked as a strategic management consultant serving domestic and international financial services institutions.  She holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) ranks fifth in terms of the largest number of foreign scientists/visa holders in the country. The International Office processes between two and four thousand visa transactions per year. Foreign nationals account for 75% of the TSRI postdoctoral community from 56 countries.
