A truly global HR nomad, this session will draw on the speaker’s 25 years' experience establishing and running HR departments in 10 counties on five continents in North America, Western and Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East and will share lessons learned from managing successful HR operations around the world. We will discuss selection, assessment, development and engagement of local HR staff, succession planning, managing across time zones and cross-cultural dynamics. This session will provide practical steps on how to develop and implement a fit-for-size HR structure and strategy and will also discuss outsourcing/off-shoring of HR operations. Finally, drawing upon the importance of the use of diplomacy when working in a multi-cultural context, you will hear inspiring stories of building the people side of a great global business. This session will show you how to:

  • Set up effective HR departments and develop fit for size HR structure and processes to support new or turn-around existing business operations in foreign countries.
  • Develop HR strategies to support the organization's global strategic plan.
