She served in senior leadership roles at RollsRoyce Aircraft before helping to found InterActiveCorp, parent company to Expedia, Home Shopping Network and TicketMaster. She then went to work for Oprah Winfrey, helping to found the Oxygen channel which was later sold to NBC Universal.

Valerie obtained her mechanical engineering degree from Kettering University and her MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. Val’s book, Clash of the Generations: Managing the New Workplace Reality, helps leaders manage multiple generations in the office.

Caron is a Senior HR Expert with over 24 years of diverse experience in all HR management systems. She led a team of 22 professionals in the Telecommunications industry and led the Selection system update with international ICT consultants for its flagship Customer Relationship Management upgrade. Caron and her team provided strategic support to the corporation’s achievement of business critical objectives.

Ms. Greaves successfully created and deployed job enrichment (inclusive of company orientations for all levels of staff) and developmental programmes geared towards enhancing the talent pool of not only company assets but also the youth of Trinidad and Tobago. She has continued her family’s tradition of wealth creation by successful creating and executing her unique business seminar – Innovation is Serious Business, since 2016. Caron is so committed to HR capacity development that she founded the H2H Leadership Forum in 2017 to nurture leadership talent and advocate for diversity awareness as a champion of women’s and management’s right in Trinidad & Tobago.

Caron is a Senior lecturer at one of the premier educational institutions in Trinidad and facilitates Masters Students reading for the HRM and Employee Relations modules of the Edinburgh Business School (EBS) programme. Additionally, Ms. Greaves is the EBS’ virtual tutor for the global online revision course. She attained her Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education with the University of Greenwich - 2016. 

In 2014, Ms. Greaves realized one of her life’s dreams by opening her HR consulting organisation – Choice HR Limited; which brings a brand of purposeful HR services to Trinidad & Tobago and the region. In August, Ms. Greaves delivered life skills and professionalism to young professionals as a partner of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs.

Caron is the MD - Options for Choices, a Laventille based wealth creation NGO dedicated to providing quality education and youth development opportunities within the Laventille community.

Alexander Alonso, PhD, SHRM-SCP is the Society for Human Resource Management's (SHRM's) Chief Data & Insights Officer leading operations for SHRM's Certified Professional and Senior Certified Professional certifications, research functions, and the SHRM Knowledge Advisor service. He is responsible for all research activities, including the development of the SHRM Competency Model and SHRM credentials.

During his career, he has worked with numerous subject matter experts worldwide with the aim of identifying performance standards, developing competency models, designing organizational assessments, and conducting job analyses. He was also responsible for working on contract task orders involving the development of measurement tools for content areas such as job knowledge (like teacher knowledge of instructional processes) and organizational climates (like organizational climate forecasting in military health care).

Dr. Alonso received his doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Florida International University in 2003. His works have been recognized for their contribution to real-world issues. They include being recognized by the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology (Division 14 of the APA; SIOP) with the 2007 M. Scott Myers Award for Applied Research in the Workplace for the development of the federal standard for medical team training, TeamSTEPPS; being awarded a 2009 Presidential Citation for Innovative Practice by the American Psychological Association for supporting the development of competency model for team triage in emergency medicine; and receiving the 2013 SIOP Distinguished Early Career Contributions for Practice Award.

Throughout his career, he has published works in peer-reviewed journals such as Industrial and Organizational Psychology: Perspectives on Science and Practice, Journal of Applied Psychology, International Journal of Selection and Assessment, People and Strategy, Personality and Individual Differences, Quality and Safety in Health Care, and Human Resources Management Review. He has also authored several chapters on community-based change initiatives in workforce readiness, as well as co-authoring Defining HR Success: A Guide to the SHRM Competency Model in Practice.

Dr. Alonso also served as a columnist analyzing major trends in the workforce for The Industrial Psychologist and HR Magazine. In addition, he has served on several professional society boards including the SIOP and the Personnel Testing Council of Metropolitan Washington.
