This session will help you understand why it is important to prepare for an aging workforce and how mature workers represent an opportunity to access top talent and create a more diverse workforce.
Mark Schmit and Jennifer Schramm will make the case for starting to prepare for an aging workforce right now. This session will look at current practices in recruiting and retaining mature workers based on SHRM survey findings and recommended effective practices based on SHRM Foundation’s “Effective Practice Guidelines”. This session will provide you with:
- The information you need to make the case to your organizational leaders for preparing for an aging workforce and to explain why it is an important part of your workforce planning strategy.
- Working knowledge of the gaps between current practices in preparing for an aging workforce and the expert recommended effective practices.
- A basic action plan for preparing for an aging workforce in your organization.
