He holds a BA in economics from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain) and a diploma in economics from the University of Wolverhampton (UK), and has taken several doctorate courses in development economics at the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao (Spain). He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, and is currently learning Portuguese. He has presented at different conferences and workshops in Latin America and Europe. Alan Silver is a senior director, actuary, and leader of Willis Towers Watson’s Benefits Delivery team in Health and Benefits. Working out of our Greater Philadelphia office, Alan has over 18 years of experience in consulting, all with Willis Towers Watson. Throughout his career, Alan has consulted employers on many aspects of employee health and welfare benefits, including account-based health plan design, pricing and strategy, as well as financial analysis and design of self-insured and insured group programs.

Alan is nationally recognized within the industry as a subject-matter expert in the area of retiree medical consulting. Over his career, his responsibilities have included comprehensive retiree medical program design, implementation of employer transition approaches and EGWP solutions, and working with Towers Watson’s carrier partners to bring new solutions to the retiree medical marketplace.

In addition, Alan’s current role places him at the intersection of healthcare strategy and benefits delivery. Through his leadership, employers are able to combine their need for a benefits strategy and the technology to support that strategy through benefits administration platforms and our own group marketplace solutions.

Alan holds a B.A. degree in quantitative economics with minor concentrations in mathematics and philosophy from Tufts University. He is an Associate in the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow in the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.

From the beginning of her career at TELUS International, she oversaw all matters related to Culture, Engagement and Attrition, implementing new benefits, development programs and employee retention strategies.

 

Deborah then transitioned to the Site HR Manager role, where she supported the Operation through the HR Business Partners team. In 2014, Deborah was promoted to Human Resources Director, responsible of delivering on the TELUS International Value Proposition by safeguarding our brand promise of being a “Caring Culture” organization.

 

Deborah’s intent is to create a happier, better and safer place for our employees because she truly believes that Happy People = Happy Customers. Her duties include the administration of the organization’s Human Resources function, she oversees organizational development, performance management, HR Business Partners, employee relations, employee retention and development  strategies, benefits, and corporate social responsibility, leading the HR staff in El Salvador.

Overall, Deborah has 15 years of experience in Human Resources, since she started her career in Recruitment as University Relations Coordinator and Senior Recruiter. Prior to joining TELUS International, she worked in other companies in the contact center industry such as DELL, in Recruitment, and in the Global Benefits team at Stream Global Services.

Rachael is a member of the H&B Thought Leadership team and continues to serve as a senior H&B strategist for employers as they evolve their health & welfare programs.

Until recently, Rachael led the North American H&B Compliance team focused on related plan design and strategy, including I&D.
