As SVP of Risk & Insurance at Justworks, David manages a cross-functional team, ensuring delivery of small business customers’ health insurance, workers compensation, and other benefits in compliance with regulation across all 50 U.S. states.

 

Prior to joining Justworks, David covered legacy PEOs as an equity research analyst for Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. After learning the ins and outs of the PEO industry in this context, David pivoted to the startup world, first at WellNet, and then to Justworks. Throughout his tenure at Justworks, David has stewarded partner relationships to expand and enhance the benefits options - health insurance, mental health, fertility, fitness, financial - for Justworks’ customers. David serves as Vice Chair of NAPEO (The National Association of Professional Employer Organizations). 

 

David holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University and an MBA from Columbia University. He lives in Connecticut.

Laura is an economist who specializes in the creation of advantage through inclusion and diversity. She built the rigorous data analytics machine and team that have been core to Seramount’s innovative approach to measuring and tracking employee experiences. Most recently, Laura was co-president at the Center for Talent Innovation (CTI) in New York City, a premier think tank and content provider that studies global workplace diversity. She has co-authored several Harvard Business Review articles, has taught Women and Globalization at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and is known as a leading expert in applying diversity and inclusion data to human behavior in organizations and using such data to quantify how workforce sentiments and satisfaction affect company bottom lines.

 

Laura holds a BS in math and economics from the University of Delaware and earned her PhD in economics from American University. She currently resides in Irvington, New York, with her husband, their four children, and their dog, Gus.

Prior to DRW, Desiree earned her Master’s Degree in Human Resources from Ohio State and spent a decade in the oil industry as an HR practitioner and global leader.  As a first-generation student herself, she actively volunteers with organizations dedicated to supporting first-generation initiatives and currently serves on the Emerging Leaders Council for Bottom Line. Desiree also enjoys travel and her fun fact is that she has visited 70+ countries thus far!
