Peter A. Rasmussen, MD, is Chief Clinical Officer for The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic and Professor of Neurosurgery, Department of Neurosurgery, Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. As former Medical Director of Digital Health at Cleveland Clinic, Rasmussen oversaw digital health strategy and the implementation of platforms across the enterprise including the flagship virtual care service “Express Care Online." As former Director of the Cerebrovascular Center, he founded Cleveland Clinic’s telestroke program and the Mobile Stroke Treatment Unit, one of the first such units in the U.S. A Past-President of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery, Rasmussen is internationally recognized as an expert in both digital health and cerebrovascular surgery.

Daniel Stunes, SHRM-SCP is the Manager of Research Operations with the Society for Human Resource Management. In his tenure with SHRM, he has led various research projects including those on Paid Leave; Immigration; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; workplace impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic; Empathy; Alternative Credentials; and benchmarking studies for Human Capital, Talent Access, and Employee Benefits.
Daniel joined SHRM from Walmart where he worked as part of multiple HR centers of expertise including Surveys, Selection & Assessments, and Performance Management. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Drake University, a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Fort Hays State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tulsa.

My passion is to help create healthy and safe workplaces. I specialize in design and implementation of innovative solutions across the entire spectrum of occupational and non-occupational health for large employers. In my current role I oversee workforce health programs for UPMC’s 90,000 employees and their family members. My responsibilities include healthcare plan design, disability and absence management, workers’ compensation, return-to-work programs, EAP, FMLA/ADAAA compliance, clinical case management, wellness/health promotion, onsite clinics, telehealth, integration with safety and advanced data analytics.
My prior work experience includes executive roles for General Electric, Qwest Communications, Pacific Gas and Electric Company and the State of Georgia as well as a national health and disability consultant serving employers across the country. Just prior to UPMC, I was the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Innovation Officer for WorkCare.
I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia and an MS from Virginia Commonwealth University in Rehabilitation Counseling. I’m a Certified Disability Management Specialist and was honored to be awarded the 2014 Integrated Benefits Institute, Health and Business Performance Award for innovative value-based health plan design.
