Shane A. Yount is a nationally recognized thought leader, author, and President of Competitive Solutions, Inc. Bert Alicea is a Licensed Psychologist with over 27 years of experience in the EAP field. Bert specializes in conducting trainings locally and on a national level on topics including harassment awareness; violence prevention; drug free workplace; DOT compliance training; and supervisor EAP awareness training. Bert also has a specialization with executive coaching; conflict mediation; and management and supervisor consultations in assisting with difficult workplace situations. Bert obtained a Masters of Arts in Industrial Psychology from West Chester University, West Chester, Pa., and he also has his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia. He is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and a U.S. Department of Transportation qualified Substance Abuse Professional.

Karl Ahlrichs specializes in helping professionals make order from chaos. He is a national speaker, author, and consultant, presenting on the people issues in all industries, and is often quoted in the local and national media. 

Karl’s experience is ideally suited to times of organizational change as he pulls on risk management and organizational development theories to replace “best practices” with “next practices”. He owes much of his communications mastery to working as a writer and editor in daily media, to on-the-job writing experience and to the process of becoming a published author.

He joined Gregory & Appel in 2010 after serving as a founding partner of ExactHire, bringing his HR, operations, diversity & belonging, and learning & development skills with him. Karl’s affinity for design, composition and learning started at a very young age, by taking and examining thousands of boring pictures with the goal of improving his craft. He loves deploying that practice-to-improve approach with all manner of hobbies including writing haiku, mastering cutting-edge technology and learning Spanish.

In 2003, he was named the SHRM Human Resource Professional of the Year for the State of Indiana. He is on the Boards of several organizations, including the Maryland CPA Society.  He has lived in Scotland and Spain and lives to explore new experiences with his wife and family.

Tim Sackett, SCP, is the CEO of HRUTech.com, a leading technical recruiting firm. Tim has over 20 years of combined executive HR and talent acquisition experience working for Fortune 500 companies. Tim is a highly sought-after international speaker on leadership, HR &TA Tech, talent acquisition, and HR execution. Tim is currently a Senior Faculty member with the Josh Bersin Academy. Pamela Chan is Project Director of Human Insights at Prosperity Now, a national non-profit that ensures pathways to financial stability and prosperity for everyone in the U.S.  Ms. Chan works with organizations serving economically disadvantaged communities conduct market research and create human-centered services. Prior to Prosperity Now, Ms. Chan studied how financial products, programs and regulations affect lower-income consumers and managed a national workplace savings pilot at New America. She also advised Fortune 500 companies on new product development at the Nielsen Company. She holds degrees from The University of Texas at Austin, Northwestern Law, and the Harvard Kennedy School.

Susan Simon is a Senior Human Resources Consultant for Campus Services at Harvard University.  Working as a HR generalist for over 20 years, she developed expertise in HR disciplines such as employee relations, performance management, recruiting and training.  Currently, she is the Training Coordinator for Campus Services, concentrating on designing and implementing responsive training programs for the diverse community of management and service & trades unionized staff.  Susan spearheaded the effort to bring Working Credit’s financial wellness program to Harvard’s dining services staff.  She sits on the board of the Harvard University Employees Credit Union.  Prior to joining Harvard University, she designed playgrounds for schools, community groups and municipalities. Susan holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership Development from Wheelock College.

Jane is Head of People & Operations at Actionable.co. A critical part of her role is to develop and implement HR strategies for a fully remote, distributed team, and set an example as a world class virtual workplace. She has spent 15 years in human resources in the private, public, and non-profit sectors, including regional and national leadership roles.

William D. Wight is a partner in the Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. offices and is the chair of the firm's International Employment Practice Group.  He counsels employers on various global employment, compensation and benefit issues related to employees abroad, as well as foreign nationals working in the U.S. and the employment of the U.S. permanent residents and citizens abroad.  Bill has worked with compliance issues related to hiring, retention and separation of employees in a multitude of jurisdictions.  His experience with global employment issues has helped him assist our clients with international operations on all sevel continents including Antarctica.  Bill has assisted clients with the implementation of strategic planning and policy development with respect to global HR practices and policies.  He has also assisted clients with the management of litigation and employment controversy matters in numerous international jurisdictions.  Bill has also counseled clients based outside the United States with the special considerations that are required when complying with U.S. employment and employee benefit rules and regulations.
